Choose the Right Machine
- Use well-lit, busy locations, ideally inside a bank lobby.
- Avoid isolated ATMs at night or in empty parking lots.
- Inspect the card slot for loose parts or skimming devices before inserting your card.
Guard Your Information
Cover the keypad with your hand when entering your PIN to block hidden cameras and onlookers. Never accept "help" from strangers, and don't count cash at the machine.
Stay Aware
Have your card ready before you approach, keep your car running if at a drive-up, and leave immediately if anyone makes you uncomfortable. Your cash is replaceable; your safety is not.
